Blinkfest 2009 (January, preheat beaming style!)

Here is another mass starting of preheat fluorescent fixtures. All with glow starters and blinkage. This time, I went in descending order for the straight tubes as far as sizes go and put circlines on the end. All preheat and all blink happy. It was pretty fun to watch. The video combined with youtube's compression doesn't quite capture how it was in real life, but this should give you an idea. It was awesome. PLEASE NOTE ONE SAFETY ERROR IN THE VIDEO: Due to a lack of wire nuts available and the F14T12 strip not having a cord, I did something you should never do, which was to attach the cord without wire nuts, a safety code violation for sure. Although this haphazard setup was only used for a few minutes just for this video, IT IS VERY DANGEROUS AND SHOULD NOT BE USED UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. To eliminate odds of a short circuit, I bent the leads far apart from one another and despite what it looked like on the camera, my fingers were nowhere near the wire leads. I've worked with electricity for a very long time and this is not something even I would do normally. Note that said fixture was the first light to get unplugged after the video was over. ALSO, IF YOU HAVE LIGHT SENSITIVE EPILEPSY PLEASE DO NOT WATCH THIS VIDEO! WITH THAT BEING SAID, ENJOY THIS LIGHT SHOW AND REMEMBER TO USE WIRE NUTS ALL THE TIME, EVERY TIME!
